Scrapbook Challenges Guest DT - Sketch #381

Hello everyone! I was the lucky January winner over at Scrapbook Challenges and I was asked to be Guest DT for the next four challenges. Thank you so much!

Here's sketch #381:

And here is my take on it:

This is a great sketch to use up some of your scraps. After I chose these pictures of Zoey when she was 4 months old, I took out this Echo park collection, Here and Now, one of my favourites ever. I didn't cut into a new sheet at all, I only used the scraps I had. Awesome!

Make sure you check out today's post at Scrapbook Challenges to see the Design Team's take on the sketch!

Supplies:
Papers and stickers: Echo Park (Here and Now)
Background paper: Bella! (Kinda Krafty)

S.W.A.T. Drill #13 - Trendy Triangles

I'll be honest with you. I've been so busy in the last 6 months that I haven't really looked at scrap magazines and/or scrap blogs. So when I saw that this week's drill was called Trendy Triangles, I thought: "Triangles are trendy?" So I decided to look around and I realized I had been living under a rock, lol!

So I happily tackled this trend in my usual clean and simple style.

I am really happy with how this turned out. This is one of my favorite pictures of Zoey, and I wanted to do it justice. I probably wouldn't thought of the triangles if it wasn't for this drill, so I'm really glad I did it!

Oh, and those amazing wood chips by Freckled Fawn? I squealed when I saw them at my local scrapbook store. I had been wanting to order them from FF, but they were always out of stock. I used them the very same day I bought them :)

Make sure you take on this Trendy Triangles drill and share it with us on the SWAT blog for a chance to win a 20$ gift card to 3 scrappy boys!

Supplies:
Papers and stickers: Here and Now collection by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park
Wood chips: Freckled Fawn
Dylusions spray
Prima chalk ink

Thanks for dropping by, I really appreciate it!

2011: A Year Of Angels

Here's a layout I made for a challenge on Let's Capture Our Memories.  The layout had to have "2011" in the title, more than 3 pictures, and something square.  This was a difficult layout for me to make, but I'm glad it's done.  Keith's dad passed away so close after Zoey was born, it made me relive what happened with my father (he passed away 2 days after Kira was born...)  But time heals and I know both my dad and my FIL are looking down on us with a smile on their face :)

I wanted to keep this simple.  I wanted a simple embellishment, so I covered the chipboard butterfly with washi tape.

Materials
Bazzill Basics cardstock (Lily White)
Echo Park patterned paper - For The Record collection (Apron Strings, Fabric Store, Lace Stripes)
Crate Paper patterned paper - Orbit collection (for journaling strips)
Quick Quotes Powder Puff ink (Midnight Confession)
Omer De Serres an Pink Paislee washi tape
American Crafts foam Thickers (Subway Black)
Studio Calico chipboard shapes (butterflies)
Sharpie pen

I Love Those Cheeks

After so much time off (tough pregnancy, even tougher first few months with Baby), it feels good to finally be back in the swing of things!  Have you noticed how much I've been posting :) I have been so inspired recently, I'm trying out new things and letting go a bit more.  It's a great feeling!  I even got a publication request for a recent layout from Scrapbooking & Beyond for their spring issue.  Woohoo, I'm thrilled!

First of all, let's talk colours.  Orange and turquoise?  Yes, please!  And the not-so-straight lines?  They feel awesome!  And the twine from The Twinery that JJ convinced me was "totally me"?  It is totally me!

Supplies:

Patterned papers: Echo Park
Letters: American Crafts and Adornit
Sticker: Bella Blvd Miniatures
Twine: The Twinery
Flowers and buttons: Unknown

He Will Always Shelter You From The Rain **Echo Park**

Wow, no blog post in May, huh?  I've hardly had time to scrap, although I miss it dearly!  Here is my latest, made with Echo Park's Springtime collection.  I'm a bit bummed that the tiny letter stickers that come with the collection are hard (if not impossible) to read from a distance or, in this case, in a picture.

Journaling: Trust me Baby Girl, your Daddy will never, ever let you down.  He always will be there for you!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Jillibean (reverse)
Patterned paper: Echo Park - Springtime collection
Letter stickers: Echo Park - Springtime collection; American craft Thickers - Shoe Box;
Element Stickers: Echo Park - Springtime collection
Pen: Sakura
Ink: Quick Quotes - Mocha Mama
Other: Glossy Accents

Born to Be Friends : : Practical Scrappers

Talk about a layout that went from an idea and turned into something completely different than imagined.  Practical Scrappers is featuring Echo Park this week and I wanted to participate.  I intended to use a lot more patterned paper than this, but inspiration took over and this is what turned up!  Also, the title has nothing to do with the journaling.   The 2 kids on these pics that aren't mine are my DH's best friend's kids.  I was going to write about that.  Again, didn't happen, lol!  Anyway, I think it's because of my newly reorganized scrap corner.  I've put my hands on a ton of "old" stuff that's new again to me and I've been wanting to use it all!

Suplies:
Papers: Echo Park
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
Lace: WRMK
Jewels: Prima and Doodlebug
Labels: Creative Imaginations
Letters: American Crafts
Flower: Unknown
Pen: Sakura

Make sure to head over to Practical Scrappers for your chance to win a prize pack from Echo Park!
