You Are Home

Yesterday on Practical Scrappers we were sharing 10 ways to use burlap on your projects.  Here is my layout using burlap butterflies from Little Yellow Bicycle.

I decided to stamp on them to give them a different look. I used texture stamps on the two on the right, and decided to use date stamps on the one on the left.  Unfortunately, I made a mistake in my date. It should say "2011", not "2012". I'm going to have to find a way to fix that. I think I'll have to use a completely new butterfly.

I loved working with the Family Ties collection from Pebbles (courtesy of Scrapbook Centrale). I thought it was great how well it matched with some Jillibean Soup stickers I had in my stash.

Make sure to check out the rest of the Practical Scrappers design team take on burlap on this post.

Supplies:
Papers and Dimensional Stickers: Pebbles (Family Ties)
Burlap Butterflies: Little Yellow Bicycle
Letters and decorative stickers: Jillibean Soup (Cold Cucumber Soup)
Ink: Memento

How It Began

Hexagons are fun, aren't they? We see them everywhere, and I love the look on a layout.  Practical Scrappers shows you 10 Things You Can Do With Hexagons, including the following layout by yours truly.

I used Studio Calico hexagon stickers to partially frame my picture.  Make sure to check out the Practical Scrappers post to see what my fellow DT members thought up for you!

Laundry Day

Good morning, how are things going for you? I have been scrapping up a storm recently, but I haven't been very good at sharing my work with you.  I'm here to remedy to that.

A lot of the layouts I have been creating have been for display at Scrapbook Centrale. Have you noticed that they have a new weekend feature called Weekend Scrappin'? It feature layouts exclusively, some of them from yours truly.

I made this layout using the Studio Calico line Here & There. I love the colours in here. It made me want to play with my Dylusions sprays. I used several of them on my background.

You might recognize my pal Erin's oldest son, Ethan. These pictures were taken back in 2010 when he and Kira were only 3 years old! That was the time before we had 10 gazillion kids and play dates were still possible, lol! If only we lived closer to each other :(

Products:
Papers, stickers, small letters, flair, brads, and chipboard: Studio Calico (Here & There)
Dylusions Sprays in Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise, Dirty Martini
Foam letters and pen: American Crafts

My version of Project Life

I love the idea of Project Life.  I like the idea of showing what our day-to-day lives are like.  I didn't want to make a page (or double-page) for every week, however.  There are a few reasons for this. One, I don't have time in my schedule for that, no matter how easy all these products make it for me.  Second, I prefer creating my regular style of scrapbooking pages.  A weekly PL spread would take time away from that.  Third, it would get very repetitive since I'm a SAHM without a car. We pretty much do the same things over and over again.

What I decided to do was to use my Instagram pictures. I really liked that idea because they are about the every day things we do.  I still use my camera daily, but I don't use it for the same things I use my phone for.  So instead of having all those Instagram pics rot in my Android, I decided to print the more meaningful ones and journal short-and-sweet style. I hope my kids can look at this album when they are older and appreciate what their real life was like as kids.

Album, inserts and journaling cards are all from Simple Stories.

Check out other Project Life projects by my fellow DT members at Practical Scrappers.

Thanks for dropping by, I really appreciate it!

Not So Much...

I decided to take part in the Love My Tapes challenge for February: red and pink.  I took out some old KI Memories papers and went to town!

Here's a close-up where you can see the washi tape I used.

And here is the story :)

Movie Date

Back in November 2010, I was asked out on a date by a wonderful little boy.  He wanted to go see "Yogi Bear" alone with his mommy.  No daddy and no sister.  Just mommy.  So we went, and we had a great time!  Here's the layout:

I made this for Practical Scrappers' Ten things to do with kraft paper. I used Jillibean Soups's kraft tags to make a fun background.  Make sure to check out what the other designers came up with!

You Are My Heart

We went to have a photoshoot of the kids (since I can't seem to get a good shot of the three in one time!) and this is one of the pictures we got.  I love it, and I couldn't wait to scrap it!

Papers are from Pink Paislee (Indigo Bleu collection)
