First Day

With the school-year-end only a month away, it's about time I shared the layout I made about their first day of school. It was back in August, when Sean started third grade and Kira started kindergarten.  She was so happy to finally go to school like her brother!

I took my corner rounder and used the "left-overs" as arrows. I also used some washi tape on a piece of scrap paper before punching out butterflies. Easy embellishments!

I just had a total brain-freeze and can't remember the manufacturer for the two papers with pink on them. Any help would be appreciated!

Supplies:
Papers: Studio Calico and ??
Label stickers: Fancy Pants (Trend Setter)
Stickers: Glitz
Letters: American Crafts
Washi tape: Love My Tapes
Spray: Dylusions
Punches: Fiskars and Martha Stewart

Bowties Are Cool

Here is a layout I made back in September at an all-day crop.  It's a layout about Sean's first day of 3rd grade.  I can't believe I'm already the mother of a third grader! For my non-Whovian friends, the title references Doctor Who (I know, shocker!)

Papers: Authentique
Letters: October Afternoon
Tags: Elle's Studio, October Afternoon
Stickers: Scrap Within Reach
Twine: The Twinery
Washi tape: Bella Blvd and DeSerres
Mist: Dylusions

2nd Grade

With 3rd grade fast approaching, it's about time I made this layout. I was really happy with the way Sean's school pictures came out.  I take a lot of pictures of my kids, so I don't necessarily need these, but I think it's fun to have one "official" picture every year.  I take the smallest package they offer and that's that :)

So, here we go, check out my handsome boy!

Papers: Teesa Collins (Celebrate)
Cardstock: American Crafts
Cardstock cut-outs: Studio Calico
Mask: Studio Calico
Washi: Bella Blvd

School Woes

Here's another layout I made at the NSD crop.  These pictures are from January 2010, back when Sean was in kindergarten!  I'm always amazed at how much better pictures look once they are on a layout.  By themselves, these pics are quite boring.  This layout makes them look much better than they actually do :)

Materials:
Crate Paper Patterned Paper (School Spirit)
American Crafts Felt Thickers
KaiserCraft Rub-ons
Scrap Within Reach Stickers
Doodlebug Button
Unknown Button
American Crafts border punch
Staedtler pen

Off You Go **Scrap Within Reach**

Finally, Sean's first-day-of-school layout! I was really happy when I put my pictures next to this paper by Scrap Within Reach. The Paper Boy collection just fit so well with them!
Here is the journaling. I used Tombow's Vellum Adhesive for this clear journaling spot. It works wonderfully! I dare you to find where I put the adhesive! No, I didn't only put some under the black part! :)

Ready. Set. School. **Scrap Within Reach**

I absolutely love how this one turned out. These are some of my favourite Scrap Within Reach papers, they are so perfect for boys! I found this MME die-cut title in my stash (my strong handsome little man) and it worked perfectly here. Gotta love when that happens! The "100% boy" sticker is from SWR's "Paper Boy" collection also. I inked a Maya Road chipboard circle and then added the sticker. I covered 2 more chipboard circles with SWR paper.

Oh, and here's a secret I'll share with you, my dear blog readers. See that letter "h" in the word "school"? Well, I didn't have an "h" anymore, so I used an "n" and a part of a "j" and used the "adventure" sticker from SWR's sticker sheet to hide the seam... Shhhh, don't tell anyone! ;)

Last layout of 2009

I asked for an hour or so on the 31st to take time for myself and scrap a little. So this is officially the last layout I have scrapped in 2009, although there are a few I haven't posted yet.

This is Sean's school portrait. Next year, I don't care how cold it is, I am not sending him to school in a hat on the day they take pictures. That way, he wont have "helmet hair" like he does here, lol!
