Practical Scrappers - Sunshine

Hello everyone, how about a post full of sunshine for you today?  The Practical Scrappers On Trend team is celebrating summer by sharing projects inspired by the sun!  This is my take:

I finally used this picture of Kira from last August. She had just conquered her fear of jumping in the water and we could not stop her!  I used a My Mind's Eye sun-shaped die-cut (the big one with the quote), a half-sun sticker (bottom of the photo) and fussy cut around a shape from a patterned paper.

Supplies:
MyMind's Eye patterned paper, stickers and die-cut (collectable collection, Remarkable color scheme)
Jillibean Soup alphabet
Bella blvd, Lawn Fawn and Queen and Co washi tape.

Visit Practical Scrappers to see more sunny inspiration! And don't forget the Chevron blog-hop from the Specialty Team! There are some great prizes to win :)

Practical Scrappers and Scraptown Lady Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the PRACTICAL SCRAPPERS and SCRAPTOWN LADY Blog Hop! We thought it would be fun to combine forces and share projects with you that have our design teams’ takes on one of the hottest scrapbooking trends around: Project Life.

Whether you are a “Project Lifer,” are interested in Project Life, or just want to find out ways to use all those fantastic Project Life types of products and ideas on your own projects, we have a hop FULL of inspiration and creativity!

My project falls in the last category.  I have a bunch of these adorable Sn@p! cards  by Simple Stories. I love them and I have been using them regularly on my scrapbook pages for journaling and such. I like that they have a journaling side and a patterned side. When came time for me to make a frame for my husband's new office, I took them out to see what I could do with them.  Turns out I made a sweet frame in no time at all using the patterned sides. Easy peasy!

Each card is 3x4, so I used a picture of the same size, made a grid, embellished with word stickers, rub-ons, flair and a cute wooden butterfly. Fifteen minutes and I was done (and that's because I wanted the grid to be very straight, so I took my time!)

We’ve got a fabulous prize for the blog hop - a $25 gift certificate to Scraptown Lady’s shop, which is stocked with awesome scrapbooking supplies! What do you have to do to be entered in the drawing? It’s easy!

You Are Home

Yesterday on Practical Scrappers we were sharing 10 ways to use burlap on your projects.  Here is my layout using burlap butterflies from Little Yellow Bicycle.

I decided to stamp on them to give them a different look. I used texture stamps on the two on the right, and decided to use date stamps on the one on the left.  Unfortunately, I made a mistake in my date. It should say "2011", not "2012". I'm going to have to find a way to fix that. I think I'll have to use a completely new butterfly.

I loved working with the Family Ties collection from Pebbles (courtesy of Scrapbook Centrale). I thought it was great how well it matched with some Jillibean Soup stickers I had in my stash.

Make sure to check out the rest of the Practical Scrappers design team take on burlap on this post.

Supplies:
Papers and Dimensional Stickers: Pebbles (Family Ties)
Burlap Butterflies: Little Yellow Bicycle
Letters and decorative stickers: Jillibean Soup (Cold Cucumber Soup)
Ink: Memento

How It Began

Hexagons are fun, aren't they? We see them everywhere, and I love the look on a layout.  Practical Scrappers shows you 10 Things You Can Do With Hexagons, including the following layout by yours truly.

I used Studio Calico hexagon stickers to partially frame my picture.  Make sure to check out the Practical Scrappers post to see what my fellow DT members thought up for you!

Dive In - Ten Things... Pratical Scrappers

We're back with Ten Things over at Practical Scrappers! Make sure to check out the link to see what everyone came up with using felt.

I decided to simply "dress up" my old pieces of Fancy Pants felt by wrapping twine around them. Gives them a fun new look!

Bazzill cardstock
Pebbles patterned paper (Seen & Noted)
Fancy Pants felt
The Twinery twine
Momenta stickers
Simple Stories letters
