Peek Into Christmas

Here it is, my last layout of the year 2013. I took this picture of Zoey a bit earlier in the month and I couldn't wait to scrap it!

I used a sketch from the always awesome Kristine Davidson for Creative Scrappers. It's sketch #257. I stayed almost 100% true to the sketch, something I rarely do, but I appreciated the simplicity today! No muss, no fuss, just a sweet memory down on paper :)

Supplies:
Papers and stickers: Bella Blvd
Letters: American Crafts and BasicGrey
Wood veneers: Studio Calico, Prima, and Creative Embellishments

Meeting Santa

Here is a layout I made using last year's Santa picture.  About time I scrapped it, right?!  I made it using a sketch from Practical Scrappers. Come and see what the other designers did with the same sketch :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Christmas Portrait 2009

I made this layout at Erin's last Saturday. I was there with JJ for an all-day crop and I was actually quite productive, lol! I couldn't decide which picture I liked best, so I went with some of my favourites. The digital frame is from House of 3, I absolutely love it! Papers are MME, I believe they are from last year's collection "Be Merry". I'll check if you need me to. THere are also two small strips of SEI. Making Memories journaling tag, American Crafts Flair and chipboard numbers and Bo-Bunny rub-on (guess who's naughty and who's nice ;) ) Finally, the awesome border punch by Martha Stewart. I love it, glad I borrowed it from Erin!

Let me leave you with this morning's Baby Blues funny!

Thanks so much for stopping by♥

Christmas Photoshoot

First off, I need to mention that my kids are awesome! They were total troopers, incredibly patient, even when my battery died and I had to switch it out. Thanks kids! I guess they are used to being a scrapbooker's kids, LOL!

So here are a few shots. You just have to love them!

Nikki Sivils Blog Post Day

Hello everyone!

I'll be hosting the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog on the 5th of each month. I can't wait to share my "Nikki" work with you, as I like to call it! You'll come to see that I am one of the "simple scrappers" in the bunch. As a simple scrapper, I love Nikki's papers because they speak on their own. They are so beautiful and colorful that not much else is needed to make something special. Case in point:

As you can see, this card is made of paper exclusively, no embellishment whatsoever. All that was needed were a few punches and some pop-dots!

Here is the layout I made for the DT challenge back in November. This is my take on "A holiday memory". No picture needed, just beautiful papers and lots of words. This layout is 8x8.

I also made this layout about my dad, who I lost 3 years ago, using the mini-paddies of all 6 collections. I had this vision in my mind, I really like how it turned out! A little ink brings it all together.

And my ever-trusty butterfly punch makes another appearance here. I love how we can use tiny scraps to embellish a page!

Thanks for checking us out at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker, join us again tomorrow for some great work by Deana Boston!

Scrapbook Circle Blog Hop!

Hello everyone! Today is blog hop day at Scrapbook Circle. If you've stumbled here by chance, I suggest you go check out Scrapbook Circle's blog. By joining in the blog hop, you could win your very own December kit, Reindeer Games! (Keep on reading to see how you can win!) Not to mention that you will be seeing tons of gorgeous work by my fellow DT members using this kit!

Now, if you've hopped on here from the Scrapbook Circle blog, you are on the right track! I now get to share with you the four projects I made with this kit. I am not lying to you when I say it has been my favourite of my entire DT term! I found the colours so inspiring, and I loved the mix of Crate Papers and Pink Paislee.

First off, here's a non-holiday layout, Bookworms. I love challenging myself to make a non-themed layout with (mostly) themed papers.

Next is a fun card using Basic Grey paper, Crate Papers chipboard shape and American Crafts glitter chipboard shapes. Of course, my trusty Martha Stewart edge punch was used to give dimension to the tree. I also added some Stickles to the Crate chipboard to make it blend in better with the American Crafts ones.

Here's a layout that I intend to frame and pull out every year at Christmas time! It's my second time using this picture, can you blame me? I wonder if my kids will be so cooperative this year when I pull out the hats and the camera!

Finally, here is my favourite project for this month. I used an 8x8 canvas and covered it with Crate Papers using Terrifically Tacky Tape to make sure it stayed put. Add a few Crate chipboard embellishments and those awesome Pink Paislee glitter letters and voila!

So admit it: You want a kit of your own, don't you?! What do you have to do? Here goes:

1. To be eligible to win the December Scrapbook Circle kit, you need to leave a comment on each of the Scrapbook Circle team member's blogs.

2. Once you have visited all of the blog hop blogs (5 + the SC blog), leave a comment on the Scrapbook Circle blog letting us know that you visited each of the blogs in the blog hop.

3. Each design team member will be giving away a RAK. Winner will be randomly chosen from the comments left on their blog.

4. The blog hop prize (a Scrapbook Circle December kit) winner will be chosen randomly from the comments left on the Scrapbook Circle blog at the end of the day today. The blog hop ends at 10:00 p.m. Mountain Time.)

Easy, isn't it? Here's what my RAK will be. Twelve packs of KaiserCraft's bling, which are available here if you don't win them here! ;)

Your next hop should be at Stacy's blog, go and enjoy it!
