The Penny Snowman

Here's a layout I created last night while playing along with Creative Embellishments. I recently received an order for a bunch of amazing chipboard shapes and I figured I'd use one of their sketches as well!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout:

-Papers: American Crafts (background) and Imaginisce
-Snowflakes: Creative Embellishments and Studio Calico
-Tags: Chic Tags
-Letters: October Afternoon
-Distress stain

Love X3

Here's a picture of my sweet kids, when Zoey was only a few of weeks old.  I've had these Echo Park papers in my stash for quite a while and I think they look great here.

I love these resist shapes from Pink Paislee, used them with Distress Stain.  Easy-peasy!

Echo Park papers
Bazzill cardstock
Pink Paislee chipboard shapes
American Crafts letters and heart chipboard
Rangers Distress Stain
Washi tape
Fabric Tape

Shelf decoration: Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker

Hello everyone! Here is a little decoration for my shelves once my scrapbook corner is painted and finished! I used Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker's House chipboard album and a little of every one of their first 6 paper lines.

Please click on image to see it larger.

If you know me, you know I don't really like altered items. Although I find them pretty, I also find them useless. Dust catchers. So when I make something, there has to be a purpose behind it. I decided to turn this into a reminder of my closest friends. Each house/store represents someone.

"Fondant Bakery" is for Bella: she's an awesome amateur baker who made the Dora cake in this post!
"481" is for me. My screen name is imzadi481. Imzadi is a reference to Star Trek and 481 is my wedding date (read the french-canadian way: 4 aout 2001)
"White-Rabbit's Toy Store" is for Erin. White-Rabbit is her screen name.
"5 Cats Café" is for JJ, coffee enthusiast and owner of, well, 5 cats! :)
"Cloth Baby" is for Noémi, who uses adorable cloth diapers on her baby.
"Hockeyville" is for Caro, a big hockey fan!

So there you go. A visual reminder of my friends that'll look pretty on a shelf, too!

Before I go, my sweet reader Carolynn asked me for a tutorial for the pinwheel flowers on my most recent layout. The idea wasn't mine, I saw it on the Pebbles blog. If you are interested in this easy tutorial, here is the link.
