It's official, I'm not a Master

I was pretty sure I wasn't a Master. After all this time, I was certain the calls had already been made. But I had a sliver of hope that I could be a runner-up. Tiny hope. And it didn't happen. Am I sorry I entered? Nope, not at all. I really want to do something big for my scrapbooking career. Which is why I've entered this contest and all these manufacturer's DT searches. I want my name out there. I want the challenge. That's when I do my best work. When I'm challenged. I know I'm inconsistent in my scrapbooking. Some pages are good and others are blah. It seems like some people never have blah pages. Then again, maybe they just don't post the ones they aren't completely happy with! I post everything. I love sharing my work, I love showing off my kids! Anyway, back to what I was saying. I'm an inconsistent scrapper. I know that. And I need to fix that if I want to advance to bigger and better things. Perhaps if I could find my Style. Or at least "define" it. I'm kind of all over the place with some really poor results sometimes. Sigh.

Anyway, here are 2 recent layouts that I completely love! The first one is based on Miss Mel's sketch for Simple Scrapbooks. It wasn't chosen for the mag, so here it is. If you don't know Melanie's work, make sure you check out her gallery! She is one of my favourite scrapper around! I am proud to have come up with a beautiful page using her sketch as inspiration!

And if you are wondering why I am not posting my MMM entry, it's because I am still hoping to get some (or all!) of these pages published enventually, either by MM or other mags. I just hope MM decides to pub my original entry so that I can get it back!

Good for you Claude to go ahead and reach out for your dreams. You never know when your time will be coming so keep up the good work and keep getting it out there for people to be able to notice it! I hope that you get your original entry back! :)

Have a great weekend!

I love the LO you did with Mel's sketch. I should post mine... that'll make you feel better. I didn't fare so well with Mel's sketch. lol. But I submitted it anyway, despite the fact I didn't love it. *sigh* Oh well, I hear ya on the inconsistent scrapping, but you know what? It's all good. Share whatever you like... if it makes you happy! And keep on entering those DT searches and big contests... you are an amazing scrapper, and it's true... practice does make you... well, maybe not PERFECT, but better! And more consistent. That's what I keep telling myself. :)

Good job for challenging yourself Claude, you are so courageous, and it's true that getting your work out there is most important!

I can relate to you in feeling that my work is inconsistent - I like trying out too many different styles and don't find I have something necessary super defined either. But that's part of the fun for me, so if people don't like it, or even I don't like, whatever, I move on. Just keep doing what you love and telling your family's story :)

Keep it up! Love your little guy's eyes btw.
