Lucky You - Scrapbook Challenges GDT Sketch #384

Today marks my last day as Guest DT for Scrapbook Challenges. I had a great time and I will definitely take part in their future challenges!

This is my take on sketch #384, Lucky You:
Darn, forgot to add the date...

This is my daughter Zoey with my brother-in-law Pascal, her Godfather. He always lights up when she's around; I love seeing them together.

I used a prompt from Mojo Hunting. I dug out my journaling tags and used 2 of them on here. One to write on and one to embellish.

Supplies:
Papers: Authentic (Journey and Abroad)
Journaling tags: Jillibean Soup and unknown (I want to say Making Memories? Anyone?)
Cork shapes: Pink Paislee
Burlap buttons: Nikki Sivils
Letters: American Crafts and My Mind's Eye
Ink: Quick Quotes

You Make Me Smile - Scrapbook Circle February Kit

If I'm not mistaken, I made 5 layouts with Scrapbook Circle's February kit. Although the colours threw me off a little bit at first (not because they weren't nice, but because it's much softer than what I am used to work with), I ended up loving it! The one thing I couldn't figure out how to use were those Maya Road DIY Arrow stickers. Then I saw DT member Jenni Calma's layout featuring the arrows and I was inspired!

The confetti on  Life. Paper. Scrapbook's February Mood Board inspired me to use the wooden embellishments and the enamel hearts scattered on my layout.

Practical Scrappers On Trend: Gold

I'll be honest with you, I didn't think I was going to take part in this Practical Scrappers challenge. Gold is simply not my thing. But then I received my Hello Today February kit from Scrapbook Circle and it came with a great sheet of gold on kraft specialty paper from Studio Calico.

So here I give you my layout, 31 Months:

Wondering why I came up with this title? I had this picture of my two oldest with their paternal grandfather from 2010. I loved it, but I didn't know what to say in my journaling. Then I read the daily prompt on Mojo Hunting, which was to use our number stickers. It inspired me to write about the time since he passed away in 2011.

I am entering this in the February 1st Challenge on the Stuck?! Sketches blog. Make sure you also check out my pal Eliane's take on the same sketch: Rébi cachée.

Supplies:
Papers: Studio Calico (Atlantic), Chickaniddy (Date Night), October Afternoon (Daily Flash Snapshots)
Tags: Scrapbook Circles printables, Scrapbook Circle Exclusive Tag Set, Elle's Studio
Stickers: Chickaniddy
Enamel hearts: Chickaniddy
Stamp: Scrapbook Circle
Letters: KI Memories, Chickaniddy, October Afternoon

Make sure you check out Practical Scrappers for other golden examples from the DT!

Fulfilled

This past Fall, I did an impromptu photo shoot with the kids. Sean and Kira had just come back from school, Zoey was happy, and it was warm enough outside. Sometimes, that's all you can ask for!

I took the picture of all 3 kids; Sean took the one of the girls, and Kira took the one of Sean & Zoey. Pretty good, right?

I am entering this in the following challenge: Fill 'Er Up from Paper Issues. Thanks for the inspiration.

Supplies:
Patterned paper: American Crafts (background) and My Mind's Eye (Adorbs)
Chipboard: American Crafts
Letters: American Crafts
Washi tape: unknown
Acetate clouds: My Little Shoebox
Dylusions mist
Distress stain

Love X3

Here's a picture of my sweet kids, when Zoey was only a few of weeks old.  I've had these Echo Park papers in my stash for quite a while and I think they look great here.

I love these resist shapes from Pink Paislee, used them with Distress Stain.  Easy-peasy!

Bazzill cardstock
Pink Paislee chipboard shapes
American Crafts letters and heart chipboard

Proud Canucks

How was your Canada Day yesterday?  We had a great time, most of the day was spent in the pool.  We had friends come over for dinner, good hamburgers and hot dogs on the BBQ.  The kids playing and tuckered themselves out, while the parents had good conversation :)

We had our second annual Canada Day photoshoot, it turned out pretty good. Maybe you can help me out.  Keith likes the first one, I prefer the second.  What's your opinion?

Here's one of the kids only.  This is the best I could do, Zoey's wiggly :) Kira was trying to keep her still.

Here a layout I made for Practical Scrappers using last year's picture. Isn't it fun to compare the two? Sean lost some hair while Zoey gained some, lol!

I absolutely love the chevron/patchwork paper from Simple Stories.  Thoese butterflies were punched out of some old jeans, courtesy of my friend Erin :)  I also used 2 Elle's Studio tags, my new addiction!

Supplies:
Cardstock : Bazzill Basics
Patterned paper: Simple Stories
Tags: Ele's Studio and 4 heures 37
Letters: American Crafts and Jenni Bowlin Studio
Pearl pen
