Considering my son will be 8 in May, it's about time I scrapped his 4h birthday, don't you think?! I'm not a big fan of "events" layout, I'm more of a "day-to-day" kinda girl. The thought of scrapping an event actually fills me with dread, lol! But I took inspiration from the following Page Maps sketch, and I went for it!

Did you notice the "Happy Birthday" paper with the circles cut inside? Erin gave me that a few months ago after she put it through her Cricut and then decided not to use it. She said "Here, you find a way to use this!" I was challenged! So here it is ;)

I'm glad to have used some of these Scenic Route stickers that I've had in my stash for years. Oh Scenic Route, how I miss you! The journaling tag is American Crafts.

Pretty Cool!

Practical Scrappers challenged us to use some ribbon on a layout. I don't often use them, even though I have a ton of them (like most of you, I'm sure!) I ended up making 2 layouts, here is the first one. I was looking for a different way to use my ribbon, so I decided to simply fold the ends and staple them. Easy peasy!

I decided to go through my stash and use some embellishments I've had for a long time. I used a Scenic Route arrow and Nikki Sivils' awesome burlap buttons (my favorite embellies of hers!) I also used Maya Road journaling spots. They were on my scrap table and it was so easy to reach for them :)

2011: A Year Of Angels

Here's a layout I made for a challenge on Let's Capture Our Memories. The layout had to have "2011" in the title, more than 3 pictures, and something square. This was a difficult layout for me to make, but I'm glad it's done. Keith's dad passed away so close after Zoey was born, it made me relive what happened with my father (he passed away 2 days after Kira was born...) But time heals and I know both my dad and my FIL are looking down on us with a smile on their face :)

I wanted to keep this simple. I wanted a simple embellishment, so I covered the chipboard butterfly with washi tape.

Real Buddies

I love the relationship between Sean and Kira. They truly enjoy each other's company. Once in a while Sean needs some time away (Kira is quite the bundle of energy!), but he always comes back sooner rather than later. I love seeing them together, playing and laughing!

This is a mix of Pink Paislee papers, I'll be back with the rest of the supplies. I usually could tell you off the top of my head, but we have no more coffee so I can't think clearly ;)

Am I Five Yet?

My sweet Kira turned 5 in November. She was a bit confused because we celebrated a few days early. She kept asking if she was five yet, because she couldn't figure out when her actual birthday was, lol!

I few months ago, she asked me to make her this cake seen on Pinterest. I did my best, and she was thrilled with it! Gosh, I love this kid!

My Life Is Amazing With You In It

Good morning everyone, I hope life is treating you well. It's already December 1st, it's amazing, isn't it? I'm really in the spirit of the holidays this year. I think it's because almost all our gifts are done, which means we wont be scrambling at the last minute in over-crowded stores. We get to relax and enjoy everything!

Here's another layout I have to share with you. I decided to use butterfly masks by Studio Calico and have lots of fun with them! I used papers and stickers from Bella Blvd. See, I was a blog winner of their new Miniature stickers (I love them, I've been using them on pretty much every layout since receiving them!) and they also sent me some of their papers. Thanks Stephanie!

I had fun with twine from The Twinery. I put a bit of Tombow liquid glue on my fingers and ran them the length of my cut twine. I then rolled it up around a plastic straw (sorry, I didn't think of taking picutres as I was doing this). I then let it dry very well, a good 24 hours. Then I unrolled it and was left with adorable curly twine. It kind of has a waxy feel to it, and it completely keeps its shape.

After so much time off (tough pregnancy, even tougher first few months with Baby), it feels good to finally be back in the swing of things! Have you noticed how much I've been posting :) I have been so inspired recently, I'm trying out new things and letting go a bit more. It's a great feeling! I even got a publication request for a recent layout from Scrapbooking & Beyond for their spring issue. Woohoo, I'm thrilled!

First of all, let's talk colours. Orange and turquoise? Yes, please! And the not-so-straight lines? They feel awesome! And the twine from The Twinery that JJ convinced me was "totally me"? It is totally me!

1st Annual Mad Hatter Day

October 6 was Mad Hatter Day (makes sense when you see the pic to the left, doesn't it ;) But what is Mad Hatter Day, you ask? Check out this article sent to me by the White Rabbit herself!

We were asked to bring tea for everyone to share, wear mismatched socks, and bring 3 pieces of paper that matched what we were wearing.

Once there, we took a silly picture of all of us, split the papers randomly, and went ahead and scrapped the picture! Fun, right?! We also stopped for some tea and cupcakes, yum!

So here's my layout, hope you like it!

It's a bit hard to tell, but the "swirly" piece of pink paper says "girl time"!

My pal JJ created this sketch for the C'est Magnifique Kit Club. I decided to play along, her sketch was perfect for these three pictures of Zoey. I used the Soft Colors action by night-fate.deviantart.com because I could not get the colours right in the originals. I decided to alter them this way, and it made her eyes POP!

I used my Opal Paper Pen on the flowers, love the swirls!

Kira will be turning 5 next month, so I figured it was time to work on her 4th birthday layout, lol! My cousin Caro took this awesome picture during the party and I love it! As soon as I saw it, I knew I'd be using it instead of one of my own.

Instead of saying "I'm four!" Kira says it like this: "I'm foy!" So I thought I'd use that as a title so as to not forget.

Still loving the 8.5x11 size, I'm going to scrap more that size.

Nothing Better Than a Snow Day Practical Scrappers

When I saw The Crafter's Workshop's 6x6 doodling template called Mini Tile Texture, I fell in love! As a clean and simple scrapper, I'm not big into masking, but I knew that I'd use this one many times over. When Practical Scrappers asked for masking on a layout, it gave me an excuse to use my doodling template (as a mask) right away. I used it on the top left of the pictures using ink and a sponge. I absolutely love the look! Check out the other layouts on Practical Scrappers.

One Month - Practical Scrappers

I made this for Challenge Me Tuesday over at Practical Scrappers. It was a colour challenge: yellow, red, grey.

I haven't been able to scrap at home in the past month-and-a-half because days are spent with the kids and evenings are impossible: Zoey will not be with anyone but me. Even Keith can't hold her without her wailing for hours... So I didn't think I'd get around to this. However, I manged to nurse her to sleep and stay awake myself, so I took half-an-hour to make this. It looked all-right to me late last night, but now I see an extra 15 minutes would have been beneficial. It needs a little more details.

Father's Day Gift - 2011

I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew I wanted to make that for Keith. No matter how much I play with the colour balance, I can't seem to get rid of the pink tinge in my picture. Weird.

The picture on the left has been on my wall for a while (it's on canvas, actually), but I hadn't scrapbooked it yet. One of the challenges this month for Practical Scrappers was to use our border punches on a layout. I will admit it wasn't much of a challenge for me, I use mine quite often. I used mine to "frame" my picture. This border punch by Fiskars is still my favorite! It's called Threading Water and it's extremely versatile.

For the life of me, I thought I had posted this, but I can't find it. Pregnancy brain,perhaps?

After 2 years being on the design team for Scrap Within Reach, my term has now come to an end. Here's one of my last layouts as a designer for them. I used the Georgia Rain collection. My friend Noémi came up with the title. See, my cat's name is Nuage (don't ask, I can't remember how we came up with that name!) which means "Cloud" in french. With the rain boots and all, his name is really à-propos here!

One of my projects for Scrap Within Reach this month was this card.

I like to keep my cards simple, just like my layouts. I absolutely love the colours in the Georgia Rain collection, and that polka dot paper is my absolute favorite! So I made sure the colours in the inside of the card showed through while still keeping my beloved polka dots in the forefront! I also cut this "flower" from one of the papers and attached it with a brad. I cut up the letter stickers to make them rectangles instead of squares so that they would fit better.

I got this huge sheet of vellum at Erin's and JJ challenged us to do something with it. I decided to use it to tame the background paper a bit. However, I am extremely disappointed in the Tombow vellum tape runner. I usually LOVE Tombow. In fact, the white liquid glue by them is always with me. But as you can see below, the tape really shows through... Oh well, gotta live with it!

Gas Comes From Dinosaurs : : My Mind's Eye

Some parents are really hard on the TV and the computer. They will hardly let their kids watch or play on computers. While I support every parent's decision on how to raise their own child, I really believe that both these tools get a bad rap. Granted, I would not let my kids be in front of screens all day. They need to play with toys, play with others and go outside. But nowadays, TVs and computers are really great tools to teach new things to our kids. A lot of shows and games are educational while still being fun for the kids.

Which is why I was so proud when Sean said this to me. It may not be exactly right, but you can tell he really learned something that might have not come up if he hadn't seen it on TV or on the computer. Fossilized fuels do not come up often in our conversations at home, lol!

Not Sporty, Me? Practical Scrappers

Hello everyone, how have you been doing? I'm doing quite well, all things considered. I'm in my 25th week of pregnancy (I think... To tell you the truth, I lost count!) and I have been diagnosed with gestational diabeties. Which means I need keep an eye on everything I eat, test my blood sugar 5 times a day, and inject myself with insulin 7 times a day (3 different kinds of insulin). As you might guess, that's a lot of planning and juggling! But that's okay, as long as it means a healthy baby in the end! :)

I'm here to share my latest work for Practical Scrappers. We were challenged to use letter stickers for something other than a title. We all have these letter sticker sheets that are no more than mere skeletons of what they used to be. With no more vowels and way to many Ws and Xs, it's hard to come up with words. Why not turn them into an accent?

Here is my layout, where I turned those letters into the shape of a football (although my husband will argue with me that it doesn't look like a football. Men!)

Halloween 09 : : Use Black and Orange

Good Friday everyone, how's your day shaping up? Mine started well, with a cute Optimus Prime going to school. Cute! Later, I need to make Apple Crisp for the Halloween crop at Scrapbook Centrale tonight. I always love the Halloween crop. It's pot luck, so we never know what our dinner will be!

Today's post at Practical Scrappers is all about using orange and black on our projects. Very à propos, don't you think? ;) We weren't home for Halloween last year because of the water damage in our house, so Erin invited us to join her and her family for Trick-or-Treating. We had a great time and I wanted to make a layout about it. I had the pictures in my stash for a long time, so this challenge gave me the little nudge I needed to finally do something with them.

I made this layout during the Pink Crop at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The challenge was to use a specific word in our title from a list. Here were the words: Survive (or Survivor), Courage, Fight, Hope, Cure, Pink. I chose "pink". I decided to kill to birds with one stone by doing the American Crafts' challenge at the same time. The AC challenge was to create a girl-themed layout sing 2 or more AC products. That's never a problem for me!

Good morning everyone!

My blog post today has a dual purpose. First, it's the title of my layout. Second, I can now officially announce that I was asked to join the Practical Scrappers design team! I'm thrilled because I get to join my awesome pal Erin on the DT!

Here's my first layout for Practical Scrappers. My challenge? To use a collage. I chose a template from Scrapbooks Etc. and finally used pictures from Sean's first haircut. Hello everyone! How are you doing on this fine day?

I'm here to share my 2 Scrap Within Reach July projects (a day late, I know, having DH at home on vacation got me confused with all the days!)

This layout is new, but the picture is not. It's from October 2008, which means Kira wasn't even 2 years-old yet! How time flies! I used the gorgeous Carnival Ride collection (papers and red letter stickers.) Isn't it super fun?!

This is what I've been working on for the past month. I have started a review and giveaway blog (click on button to see):

It all started when another giveaway blog that I stumbled upon was looking for a Canadian reviewer. I figured "hey, I love to write and I'd LOVE to get free products, let me give it a shot!" In the end, it was between 2 other ladies and myself. I didn't get the job.

So I decided "Let's see if I can start my own review blog." And the rest, as they say, is history!

It may not seem like much, but it's a LOT of work! So I've been busy contacting different companies, hoping they would be willing to help out a beginner like me. And everyone has been so supportive!

One thing I have discovered through all this work is that there are a lot of products out there that are amazing! Things I never knew existed. I now have a ton of things bookmarked that are on my wish list. I hope to make you discover some products just as I have and, hopefully, you'll enter my giveaways!

Hello everyone, it's been a while, hasn't it?

I haven't been scrapbooking much lately, for 2 reasons.

First, my scrap area is a mess! You see, we are repainting the basement where my stuff is, so everything is on top of everything. I can't find what I need and it's quite frustrating.

Second, I've been working on a project that I'm hoping to be able to share with everyone in the next week or two. It's really fun, but it's also a lot of work.

Summer Mini Album : : Scrap Within Reach

Okay, let me be honest here: I don't like mini-albums. I think I've said it before. I don't like making them and I don't like them once they're done because I see them as clutter. My kids, however, love them. They see them as little books about them (as if all the big albums I make aren't about them!) So once in a while, I make one.

I started with this. You'll have to excuse the bad picture, it was 11 at night when I took it.

As you can see, it's a fleur-de-lys. However, I couldn't use it as-is and I'll tell you why. You see, I live in the province of Québec and this is our flag:

So when I see a fleur-de-lys, all I can think of is this flag, and more specifically our national holiday, la St-Jean-Baptiste. I know there's a lot more meaning behind this emblem, but my head sees what it sees, what can I say! Since I didn't have pictures of us celebrating said holiday (well, not enough pics), I decided to alter the album. I made this:

Oh yeah, another Crate Paper layout and my second cardstock-backed layout in a row! I strayed from that for a while using patterned paper as my base. However, I always come back to this because I love the clean look so much! I used a Maya Road sheer bear, it's so cute!

Hello everyone! It feels so good to be back to scrapping! Not that ever really went away, but we've been planning to paint the basement (where my scraproom is located) for 2 months now so I moved all my scrap stuff. It's making it impossible to find what I need, which is no fun at all. That means that I was able to make one layout every 2 weeks for a while. It feels good to be back in the swing of things! No, the basement is still not painted, but I started scrapping on my kitchen table using only the stuff I can see/access.

This is what I came up with a few days ago. I used the Brooke collection by Crate Paper. Can you say yummy?!

Hello everyone! How are you doing?

Here is a layout I made using The Cottage collection by Scrap Within Reach. I love the colours in this one, don't you? An oldie, but definitely a goodie!

I fussy-cut the flowers and curled up the petals by wrapping them around a pencil. I also added some Distress Stickles to the centers.

So You Think You Can Dance Top 11 Performance

When I heard that the usual Top 20 of SYTYCD was going to be a Top 10 instead (turns out, Top 11, since so many dancers were good), I felt let down. I was looking forward to seeing the All-Stars, of course (especially Courtney, Neil and Mark), but I wanted *new* dancers. As it turns out, it was a wonderful idea! Dancing with the All-Stars brings the best out of all the dancers. Aside from a few hiccups, it was a great night! Here is my favourite performance of the night, featuring Alex Wong. He's been at the top of my list since Vegas, so this made me very happy! Fast-forward to 1:10 to skip the intro.

I took this picture back in March. Kira is not in a toddler bed anymore, she's in a big-girl bed. As I was going through my pics today, I realized I'd never shared this. Doesn't it crack you up when you see something like this? Doesn't it make you wonder how they can sleep in such a position? Recently, she fell off her bed (we heard a loud crash) and she climbed back up and went back to sleep as if nothing happened. Weird. :)

I made my own pendant!

I've been looking around on Etsy a lot these past few weeks. People make such beautiful things! I felt like trying to make something myself, but I had no idea where to start. Then, on my way to the playground with Kira, I found this metal disk:
There are some little tabs on it that I wish I could've sanded down, but I had nothing to do it. Luckily, they are not sharp, so it's all safe.

Although it actually looks dirtier on this picture, I cleaned it really well with this cloth. Can anyone tell me what this cloth is and where I could get more? It came with a piece of jewelry, but it's getting pretty dirty. Anyway... here's the clean disk. It's scratched, but I don't mind that.

Here is a sheet of Fancy Pants rub-ons that I had in my scrapbook stash. I rubbed gently and it worked really well.

Here it is with the transfer done:

I then used my handy dandy Crop-a-Dile to make a whole in the metal disk. I don't use it often, but I sure am glad to have it when I do. It punches through anything!

I added a coat of Glossy Accents to protect the rub-ons. Here it is while it's still wet:

Once it was dry, I added a jump ring:

Add to a beaded chain and voila!

High Hopes Stamps

Okay, I am by no means a stamper. I own maybe 2 rubber stamps. But I love stamping images when I'm at Erin's and then colouring them. I love it as much as I did when I was little, which is a lot! I also discovered digi stamps. That is how I found out about Dustin Pike. I can tell you he is my favourite stamp designer by far. There is just something about his images... I can't stop staring at them! I own a digi stamp from him, it's a train. I can't wait to colour it (I just need ink for my printer!) Anyway... Dustin is a designer for High Hopes Stamps and they will be having a Blog Hop to celebrate their new release, with plenty of prizes along the way! When Keith was away on Friday night for softball, I was able to finish this layout that had been on hold for over a week! I told this story before here, I thought it was time to put it down on paper! I used the My Family collection by Fancy Pants, doesn't it work so well with this picture?

Rally Cap

Yesterday was the day! The first day of Rally Cap.

Here he is laughing at something funny one of the coaches said:
Would you look at him?! He was a bit nervous before he started. You see, this was his first "team" anything. He's also a bit scared of the ball and he was afraid of getting hurt, but once he saw the balls were soft, he started loving it! This is not quite T-ball, it's called Rally Cap. When you play T-ball, you play the game. In Rally Cap, they get you ready for T-ball. They show you how to hit, catch, throw and run bases. In a few weeks, if he wants to, he can start playing T-ball or he can decide to stay in Rally Cap. They did 20 minutes of everything today except running bases because the city hasn't brought the bases to the park yet.

All the fathers and mothers who wanted to could help out, since there are 60 kids, so Keith helped out (I had to stay with Kira and take pictures!)

Scrap Within Reach Projects

Good morning everyone, how are you doing today? I went to bed late yesterday (1 AM) and I feel completely knocked out! Especially since I've been going to bed early for a couple of weeks (9:30-10)! Tonight is Sean's first day at T-ball and as soon as we get back, I'm heading to bed. I'm not as young as I used to be, lol!

Heidi at Scrap Within Reach challenged the DT with two sketches this month. We had to make one layout and one card, we could choose which project went with which sketch.

My Little Shoebox

Well, I did it! My Little Shoebox was having a design team call and I threw my hat into the ring. Let me share my projects with you.

I absolutely love this one. Bright and cheerful, I managed to keep it simple, just like I like it. Plus, that pic is cool!

I like this one too, especially the title. When I saw this layout on Teri's blog, I thought her corner title was genius! I knew I had to try it!

I used some of MLS's die-cuts to make these flowers (I just noticed one of them came unglued...oops!)

Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole week since I posted a layout. What with watching hockey (Go Habs!) to going to bed earlier than usual, I simply did not scrap. I'd have some time to scrap during the day, but that means scrapbooking with my daughter and sometimes it's more than I can handle, lol!

I made this layout last Saturday, I just went crazy with the circle punch, lol!

I pop-dotted the dinosaur sticker with extra thick foam. How fun is that?! I also pulled out the "September" sticker from my stash. I've had it for years. It's always gratifying to use up our stash, isn't it?

Good morning everyone, how's life treating you? Today is my day to post on the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog, I thought I'd share here with you.

My daughter Kira, who is 3, is a real girlie-girl. She loves pretty clothes, nail polish and shoes! Ellie's Day Out is the perfect paper collection for her. Just look at those beautiful pastels and cute purses and such! The clouds are from the Willow Bee line.

Here we have card card made with Dan The Record Man. As I was making this, it occurred to me that this is probably one of the best masculine paper lines out there. No frills, no fuss, just pure manhood! I love the die-cut paper!

Finally, I worked with one of Nikki's original collections, Victoria's Street. I love this line! I used the 6x6 Mini Pads for this, as well as the Pocket Of Stickers.

Good morning everyone, I'm so glad you came by to visit lil' old me!

Did you do anything for NSD? I spent the entire day scrapping with my buddies Erin and JJ. We had a lot of fun, that's for sure! I managed to get 3 layouts done, which is what I expected.

This layout, made with October Afternoon's Fly a Kite collection, was one of those layouts. These papers make me so happy!

I took a pack of 2 big Prima flowers and turned them into 3 smaller flowers (with more to be used another time.)

I used cute illustrations from the reverse side of one of the OA papers. It's not something I usually do, but I really, really like how it turned out! It's nice to try something different once in a while.

Hello everyone! How are you today? I'm exhausted, don't know why. Can't seem to wake up today. But I'm in a good mood because the Habs won the 7th Habs-Caps game, which means we live on another day to face the Penguins! Woo hoo!

This week's challenge on the American Crafts blog was to make a pet themed layout or card. I haven't made a layout about either of my cats for a while now, so it was perfect. Here's my boy, my first baby, Nuage. I started the cats' albums in 8.5x11, which is why you see this size from me today.

My Guys :: Crate Paper

Hello everyone! How are you today? Let me tell you how I am today.

I'm upset at Mother Nature!

You see, there's a french saying that goes: "En avril, ne te découvre pas d'un fil." Basically, it means that in the month of April, you should not start dressing like it's spring because you might get quite a surprise. Well, today is that day. Snow. Yes, I said snow! On April 27th. *sigh* Okay, to be fair, it's wet snow, so it doesn't stay on the ground, but still... It's a bummer! Glad I hadn't put the kids' winter stuff away!

On a happier note, I get to share a layout with you. Of all the stuff that came out at CHA winter, the "Brooke" collection from Crate Paper was what I was looking forward to the most. When my lss finally got it in, I bought every single sheet, some more than once! I *love* it!

Check out the colours! Swoon!

I used a big chipboard circle and two chipboard butterflies from Technique Tuesday. I used Erin's new stamp (I don't know who makes it, she'll have to tell me!) on the medium butterfly. It's my favourite thing on this layout! Love those swirls! The biggest butterfly was covered in paper and the circle was inked with Color Box ink in Ochre. The ink shows up more orange than it really is. IRL, it's almost the same exact mustard yellow as the paper.

And let's not forget these awesome corrugated letters by Jillibean Soup! Want to be let in on a little secret? The "y" is the word "guys" is actually a "v" and part of an "x" because I didn't have another "y". A few strategically placed butterflies and no one is the wiser (well, except that I just told you, but it's our secret, right?)

Introducing New Scrapbooker Kira Beauregard

Miss Beauregard, who is 3 years-old, tells us she was born an artist. As far as she can remember, she has loved the arts, making sure to leave her mark on walls, sofas and clothing. Things evolved from there. Her mother, a scrapbooker herself, provided her with all the tools possible to nurture her talent. By the tender age of 3, Kira owned her own paper trimmer as well as countless decorative scissors. She was also lucky enough to inherit a huge pile of papers that her mom could not possibly all use. Different embellishments and alphabet stickers also made their way to her stash.

Kira developed her sense of colour at an early age. Her mom cannot wear a pajama bottom with a different-coloured t-shirt without hearing: "Mommy! You don't match!!"

After playing with papers, markers, glue and scissors for years, she finally gave the world this stunning layout. Notice the slightly crooked picture, the gathering of buttons and the pop of colour provided by the red embellishments. It's was all created to grab our attention and keep it.

I made a Mothers Day card using one of Scrap Within Reach's new collections, Urban Garden.

I decided to try making an easel card. I've seen it done so many times and I loved the idea. I looked for a tutorial, I used this one by Mary at My Stampin' Dreams. It's actually very easy to do once you see it done.

When You Dream, Dream Big My Mind's Eye Challenge

Hello everyone, how are you doing today? I am quite exhausted tonight as I write this. I spent two hours at the playground with Kira this morning, and another hour-and-a-half with both kids when Sean came back from school! It was such a lovely day! Warm with a nice breeze, it felt good after a cold an rainy weekend!

There's a challenge going on at the My Mind's Eye blog until April 22nd. The challenge? To be inspired by this sketch by Anam Stubbington as well as by the song Dream Big by Ryan Shupe & The RubberBand.

This is the layout I made:

I went to JJ's on Friday night because all the usual suspects for the crop at Scrapbook Centrale could not make it. That's when I created this layout. The background paper has the cutest little umbrellas on the reverse side, but I bought it for those yellow polka dots! I absolutely love it! Being in the presence of the "Distress Queen" made me pull out my ink for the edges! :) I used MME's gorgeous velvet alpha from the Lush collection, it's so rich and beautiful! And the ribbon by Jillibean Soup? I'd use it on everything if I could!

Would you look at that! My sweet friend Bella has given me this great Beautiful Blogger award!

Now, I have to share 10 things about myself and pass this award on to 10 of my friends.

1. My favourite part of the week is Friday nights: crop with the girls!
2. I'm not sure whether or not I want a third child.
3. I make the bed only because I know my husband likes it to be made. If it was up to me, it would stay undone all the time. After all, my bedroom is on the second floor, so I don't see it during the day.
4. I love my cats, but I will not be getting more when they, um, go...
5. My goal is to fit in size 12 jeans. I'm currently wearing 18, down from 20.
6. I can't really decide what my favorite colour is. Right now, I love turquoise. My kids seem to think it's orange.
7. My favourite number has always been 7, because i was born on April 7th.
8. If we had more money, I'd have a Starbucks latte every day.
9. This year, I watch 4 comedies on TV after years of watching none: The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Cougar Town and Modern Family.
10. I watch many, many more dramas than that, and I'm unapologetic about my tv addiction!

Paging Dr. Kira American Crafts Challenge

My love for American Crafts is no secret, is it? I have a stack *this high* of AC papers and yes, I do use it a lot! Especially since I started participating in the weekly challenges on the AC blog last year. Their papers make me happy. What can I say? I *heart* American Crafts!

Ok, now that my "Ode to AC" is over, here is my layout for this week's challenge, which was to use two or more products for the new Abode collection. It's my favorite since the Travel line, so this was not a difficult challenge for me, lol! Believe it or not, the background paper is not from the Abode collection; it's from Heat Wave. It goes incredibly well with it, doesn't it?

Here are a couple of cards I made using 2 of Nikki's new lines, Willow Bee and Ellie's Day Out. I used the Mini Pads, they are perfect for card making!

I also used a clear stamp from the Flaming Butterfly collection. This butterfly stamp has become my favorite stamp!

Kira helped me make this next card, choosing the shoe stamp herself! She also helped me cut the papers. I added a bit of Stickles to the stamp.

Before I go, I'd like to toot a little bit! I was so thrilled to see one of my recent layouts make it on the Bella Blvd blog yesterday! And it was even more exciting to see that my scrap pal, Diana, was featured there too! You can see the Bella post here.

March 2010 :: Project 12

Hello everyone! Time for me to share with you my March layout for Project 12. The sketch was again a Becky Fleck one:

I've said it before, I'll say it again: I usually never follow sketches a lot. I'll 'fess up to the reason why: I like to submit for publication. Whether I get paid for a published layout or I get compensated with scrapbooking products, it sure helps me since we are a one income family (being a stay-at-home-mom takes sacrifices!) I believe submitting something that looks exactly like a sketch by someone else would be unethical... Am I wrong?

So I don't usually use sketches very much (and if I do, I just use them as a starting point only, the end result never looks like the original, lol) Don't get me wrong: there's nothing wrong in using a great sketch. I just chose not to do it. Except for project 12. I know these layouts are just for me. It feels good not to have to think about design. So, without further ado (it's "ado" people, not "adieu"! ;) ), here's my layout (I'm sorry that it's crooked!):

Snow Great NEW Scrap Within Reach

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen (by gentlemen I mean my husband and brothers, lol), my first layout of the new term on the Scrap Within Reach DT! I used one of the two new collections, Cambridge. As always, the distressing on SWR's papers is amazing! And the reverse sides are gorgeous, they are perfect to use as backgrounds.

I used the letters and ribbon that were made to coordinate with the Industrial Park collection. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they went so well together!

I Turn On De Night

Erin started a scrap tag at Scraptacular Images and she signed me up. What are friends for, right?! ;) I ended up with this layout which I love, for many different reasons.

One of them is that I used "older" papers. Not really old, but not the newest stuff in my stash. It feels good to use what I already have. After all, I bought it because I loved it, right? There's a mix of Bo-Bunny and Basic Grey papers. There's also an old Cosmo Cricket journaling spot.

Also, I used the awesome canvas flower from Jillibean Soup. I sprayed it with Key Lime Glimmer Mist. You can see it better in the close-up photo of the journaling.The title reads "I Turn On DE Night So I Don't Not See Anymore!"
