A published layout and some thoughts

This layout was published in the January 09 issue of Scrapbooks Etc. I thought I had posted it on my blog, but I can't seem to find it now.

You know what I love about scrapbooking? Many things, of course, but mostly I love that I can remember when each layout was made. This one was made at a Friday night crop at Scrapbook Centrale. I remember who was there, I remember where I was sitting. I remember seeing Bella's measuring tape and asking her if I could take a piece of it. I remember that NoƩmi is the one who showed me that the Bo-Bunny dotted cardstock fit perfectly with my Imaginisce patterned paper. Yes, scrapbooking is about preserving memories, but it's also about creating new ones. Love it!

Here's a shout-out to Caro, my rockin' cousin! She was hand-picked to be a design team member (one of only two!!) at Boutique Creations Elliam! Well deserved, my friend, I'm proud of you!

A layout and a card

Here is the second layout that appeared in the final issue of Style & Scrap magazine. I love these pictures of my mom with Kira. Which reminds me, I have to send these pics to maman!

This is a simple card I made using Scrap Within Reach's Afternoon Tea collection. Did I ever tell you how awesome these rub-ons are? They go on like buttah! :)

I am thrilled to say that Scrapbook Centrale now carries the 2 latest Scrap Within Reach collections, Afternoon Tea and Industrial Park!!!

And OMG, I just noticed my most recent SWR layout is on the main page! : http://scrapwithinreach.com/

GCD Design Team call

It should feel like MMM or HOF, people waiting by the phone for "the call!" And let's not forget the giveaways (really, who doesn't like to win free stuff??)

To celebrate spring, here's a Christmas layout! :)

This layout was published in the final issue of Style & Scrap.

*****

In other news, tonight is crop night at Scrapbook Centrale, so that's always fun! I miss the girls during the week, I wish we all lived a little closer to each other.

I plan to work on a few layouts and I pledge not to spend money (unless something is just too cute to pass up, of course!)

Thanks for the visit!

New new layout

My son was over 4 years-old when he was potty-trained, which is why this is a big deal! :)

*****

Heard yesterday while the kids were playing Dora's Hunt and Seek board game. This game is awesome. It's basically like "Where's Waldo", but they have to find 25 different hidden images on 6 different boards. The kids (especially Kira) love it.

Mom: Okay, you need to find this flower.

Sean: A flower with coca-dots (polka-dots).

Kira: Not coconuts, a fwower!

Scrap Within Reach Layout

When I saw this picture of my sleeping daughter, I knew the soft colours in the Afternoon Tea collection would be perfect. I wanted this layout to be sweet and soft. I made the flowers from different-sized circles and then added buttons that I embellished with the Afternoon Tea rub-ons. The yummy ribbon made great stems!
Supplies:
Patterned paper, Chipboard letters, ribbon and rub-ons: Scrap Within Reach Afternoon Tea collection;
Punch: Fiskars;
Pearls: Kaiser Scrapbooks;
Ink: Nick Bantock;
Pen: Zig Writer;
Misc. buttons;

Today is Tuesday...

...and I don't have much to say. I'm so tired these days, I don't do much. All I do is sleep, it seems. I had some blood drawn the other day, maybe, they'll find out what's wrong with me?

On Saturday, I did go to Bella's house for a crop. We had a great day! Her friends Michelle and Steph were there, they are really nice. I had met Michelle before, but not Steph. I made 2 layouts when I was there, but I only photographed this one as of now. I made it for challenge #11 at the Mix It Up blog. I'm glad I finally used this picture I had in my stash since last summer.

On Sunday, it was the St-Patrick's Day parade in downtown Montreal andof course, we went! The kids loved going in the subway! It was a nice, sunny day. Here are pics of the kids. I didn't take the time to crop them, so you are getting them as-is.

Finally, yesterday we went outside and the kids went on their tricycles. Sean will have a bike with training wheels this year, but it's not ready to use yet, it needs air in the tires (it was given to us a few years ago.)

Scheme 16

Well, there's been some shuffling around at the Scrap Schemes blog. Katy took over for Shawna, who couldn't take care of the blog anymore. She came up with this awesome inspiration piece (my favourite so far!) I'm not thrilled with the end result of my layout (I had a whole other vision for it) but I'm glad I finally scrapped this sweet pic of S and K!

If you make a layout inspired by this piece, don't forget to come and share a link to it in the comments section of this post. We'd love to see what you do!

A few layouts.

I've been scrapping up a storm lately, but most of my layouts are fall or winter layouts, so I'm keeping them private until the different calls are done. After all, I have a new laptop that needs repaying, so I have to keep submitting! In the meantime, I can show you these 2 layouts. Thanks for looking!

Roots and Wings wall-hanging *Scrap Within Reach*

Here is a wall hanging I created with Scrap Within Reach's The Cottage collection. It is featured on the blog this week, check it out!

If you know me, you know I am not an altered-item gal. But I really, really like this. It matches my living room perfectly. The papers are so gorgeous, and I loved using all the pearls and pebbles.

TFL! I'll be posting a few recent layouts soon!

1. Yesterday, we added a few channels to our Videotron package. One of them is Treehouse. I've been wanting this channel for the kids for a long time and now I do! But there's gonna have to be a limit because they could watch tv without commercials forever! But I think they'll have tons of fun and it'll give me a breather once in a while. :)

2. I have Photoshop 7! I can finally use actions. I'm a happy girl today!! Much better than PSE 2.0 I had before :P

3. I love being a SAHM. I really do. But you know what? It makes me sick of my house. I see every single one of its flaws. I want to paint all the walls. I'm tired of the patching job that was done by the previous owner that still haven't been painted over by us after almost 5 years. I'm tired of picking up the same things over and over again. I'm tired of cat hair everywhere, and cat food under my feet and dust. I can't stand my windows anymore, they need new drapes (they still have to old stuff that came with the house!) I don't want to see my living room lamp anymore. I'm pissed off that the thing that prevents the door from slamming in the wall is broken; now we have a big hole in our wall. I can't stand the crumbs under my feet anymore no matter how much I sweep the floor. I know I should simply be grateful, but there are some days like today where I need to have a pity party, whether or not my life actually warrants it.

4. My birthday's in April, but since my brother wont be here on that day, he just called to ask if I wanted to go to the movies tomorrow. There's a movie he really wants me to see. I'm guessing it's Slumdog Millionaire, but I didn't ask. I want him to surprise me!

5. Here's a layout I did last Monday when Caro was here. Doesn't it make you want to go in the pool?!

We live on Erf, did you know that?

Here is another installment of "Heard in this Household":

Yesterday, we were watching an episode of Curious George where he goes into Space with the man with the yellow hat.

Sean (who's 4, doesn't go the pre-K/daycare and definitely didn't learn this from me) says: "Our planet is called Erf and it's number free!"

By that, he meant of course that Earth is the third planet from the sun. You'll also understand that he can't say his "th" yet.

How awesome is he?!

*****

The other day, I wanted to do some scrapbooking, but I had no inspiration for a layout. So I decided to go through all my papers to make a goodie bag for Helene, a little girl my mom babysits who enjoys scrapbooking. I also mixed and matched my papers to make little kits for myself. You know, not have all the papers from only one manufacturer on a layout. My cousin Caro is very good at doing this on the spot, but I have to think about it a little more. So I spread out on the floor and came up with tons of options. It's great to be able to use some older stuff with stuff from my new stash. On the following layout, I used:
-Chatterbox, from the Chateau collection
-Imagination Project Chloe's Closet
-Basic Grey Urban Prairie
-Bazzill Dots

It feels great to use up my stash!

Do you think we watch too much Star Trek?

A few weeks ago, Sean started saying "Yes, Sir!" when we asked him to do something. We thought it was cute!

Then yesterday, Kira started saying "Aye, Captain!" out of nowhere. I think we watch too much Star Trek! (okay, there's no such thing as too much ST!)

******

On another note, I just received an email from Heather at Canadian Scrapbooker. She requested 1 layout for the Summer issue and 2 layouts for the Canadian Scrapbooker Volume 4 special issue. I'm thrilled, especially since I thought the calls were done (my pal Erin got her requests last week). Turns out she tried emailing me last week, but I was having trouble receiving my emails! I'm glad she gave it one last shot today!

Scrap Within Reach mini-album

I was worried when I learned I'd have to make an acrylic album using Clear Scraps Arrow album. I'm not usally a fan of mini-albums (I love what others make, but I'm not a fan of making them.) Add to that the fact that this one is clear. I was terrified! But JJ was sweet and gave me good pointers as well as encouragement. Turns out, I absolutely loved working on this project! It's a little album where I show how much my son has grown. The last picture will be one of him in September 2009 when he goes to kindergarten!

Industrial Park is a favourite collection of mine! I love the colours and shapes, so good for boy pages and projects!

If you live somewhere where you can watch the show "Good Things Utah", make sure you watch the show tomorrow morning (Monday, March 2nd). Scrap Within Reach will be featured, it should be great! Click here to purchase the mini-album they will be making. It's super cute and uses Industrial Park!! It's also on sale right not!

Sunday TV Habits

I love Sunday nights because it means The Amazing Race and Damages. It also means Brothers and Sisters, but that one doesn't rank as high on my list as the other two.

First off, let's talk about Damages.

Right now, I am watching season 2. Season 1 was much better, IMHO, but season 2 doesn't dissapoint. Glenn Close is awesome. Every time we think Patti Hewes can't possibly be behind something that's going on, we find out that she is. She is just awesome! If you're gonna start watching, make sure you watch season 1 first.

*****

The Amazing Race.

What can I say? This show is, well, amazing! It's the only reality tv show I would take part in if I could. I looked into it, actually, but it's only open to US citizens. *sigh*

*****

Brothers and Sisters.

I started watching this show in the second season. I caught a recap show of the first and decided to keep watching. It's a good drama, funny at times, touching at others. Oh yeah, and I have a crush on Matthew Rhys! ;) I hear he's no angel irl, but I don't much care, lol!

Saturday TV Habit

Smallville is the one show we have on Saturday.

Since we don't have the CW, we have to tape it at 7pm on Space. We've been watching this show since the beginning, so now it's more out of habit than anyting else. But we still enjoy it!
