Spotlight on Nikki Sivils' Boo-tiful collection

With Halloween only a month away, now's the time to make sure your local scrapbook store is carrying Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker's "Boo-tiful" collection. How cute is that ghost?!

You can even make a non-Halloween layout with it. Check out this little surprise I made for my friend JJ. This is her adorable daughter Rhys. She was 9 months old at the time.

I just realized this is a little blurry, I apologize for that.

Scrapbook Circle Reveal (finally!)

Normally, I would've been able to show you these projects a lot earlier in the month. However, Canada Post being ever so reliable, it took 3 weeks for my kit to reach me. On a side note, if you want to see how awful Canada Post can truly be, check out this link to see what happened to my pal JJ.

Then I had to find the time to actually scrap. I'm in big purge mode since we are probably going to have to empty the house while they make repairs, so my time is limited.

And then, my internet got wacky. And of course, "they" can't find the problem. So uploading has been a pain. I'm hoping this post goes thrugh, the internet is not so bad today ! :)

So here are my four projects, using Lily Bee, Pink Paislee and Jenni Bowlin.

Carnival Ride Makes Me Happy!

On Tuesday, as I was leaving for Erin's place, the mail carrier brought me happy mail: my Scrap Within Reach DT box with the new releases!!! I absolutely LOVE both lines, Carnival Ride and Paper Boy. As soon as I arrived at Erin's I pulled out Carnival Ride and started a mini-album. I should be able to show it to you by the end of the week-end.

I also have two altered projects and a layout planned with both lines. I'm so excited to be playing with these papers! And let me tell you this: the element stickers are awesome!!!!

So... wanna get your hands on some Carnival Ride? Check out this blog post from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking to see how you could win this kit:

If you win, make sure to show me what you did with the SWR papers!!!

Sketch time at Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker!

Make sure you check out Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker's blog all this week. Fellow DT member Kathleen created this sketch and you will see what we all came up with. There are some amazing layouts, it's definitely worth the look!

Here's the sketch:

And here is my interpretation of it:

I absolutely love the background paper. First off, it's orange! Second, check out those bats, just visible enough to be seen, but not too much so as to be "in-your-face"! I like the added touch of the craft flags and I LOVE the letter stamps (the font is called Willie-Bee.)

I was finally able to use those huge purple Bazzill flowers. Glad to use up my stash!

Finally, I'd like to give a shout out to fellow DT member Hilde who made it on the Tattered Angels design team!!! That is so cool, congrats!!!

Spotlight on Nikki Sivils' Henry's Brilliance collection

When you think of September, you think of back-to-school, right? So did Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker when they created the Henry's Brilliance collection. Bespectacled owls, rulers and ledger paper are part of this adorable collection.

Here's a tissue box cover I made using the collection as well as alpha stampies in Willie-Bee's font. I think those owls are adorable!!

Will U B Friends? *American Crafts*

First off, I feel the need to apologize for the "U B" in the title instead of "you be". I know it's been done, but I actually don't like seeing it done that way. However, it was the only my title would fit so I caved, LOL!

Second, let's all have a Woot Woot for orange Thickers!

Third, those little trees, which I thought were felt when I bought them, are more of a fleece. Love 'em!

Fourth, how young do the kids look?! This was more than a year ago, which means Ethan and Kira were not even 2 yet. Kira's hair is soo short!

Finally, in case you haven't figured it out, I made this layout for the American Crafts blog challenge which was to create a friendship themed layout using 2 AC products. I used the new Blue Skies collection.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics in Java;
Paper: American Crafts in Blue Skies;
Letters: American Crafts;
Fleece trees: American Crafts;
Pom pom ribbon: Bazzill Basics;
Pen: Zig Writer;

Published layout: Fascinated

This layout was published in the August 2009 issue of Scrapbook Trends. To say I love this layout would be an understatement! It has been my favourite since I made it almost a year ago and I still love every single thing about it. Now, someone tell me... why didn't I submit this layout as part of my ACDT entry? Not that it would've made a difference in the end, but I would've felt better about my submission! :)

Paw Prints, Transformers & Candies, Oh My!

I went a little crazy with the title, lol! I can't believe I managed to fit that super-long title and 4 photos on one page! I still think it works.

For the pictures, I used the 70s action by The Pioneer Woman. Love it!

Supplies:
Paper: Sassafras ans Pink Paislee;
Letters: Reminisce and American Crafts;
Flowers, Buttons and Chipboard: American Crafts;
Brads: Making Memories and dollar store;
Pen: Zig Writer;
Ink: Tsukineko;

And he's off!

Today was the day when Sean was getting on the school bus for the first time! He got really excited when he saw the bus turn on our street. I held his hand until the last possible second, then I let him go! He got in so fast that I didn't get to snap his picture; I'll just do it on Thursday!

When the bus left, Kira was in my arms and she said: "I want Sean! I lost Sean in the school bus!" She's okay now! ;)

I can't wait to go get him later to see how it went!

*********

Don't forget, today is the first day of daily giveaways at Crafts-International. Today's prize? Tinkerbell stamps. Kira would LOVE those!

A few days ago, I was contacted by Francine aka raggafran. She said she saw my "Time to Take Flight" layout on the Two Peas gallery and wanted to feature it on CraftGossip.com !! How cool is that?!
