12 days
It's been 12 days since I've updated. I guess I have a ton of things to say, but I'm exhausted and I need to go to bed. Let me leave you with this layout of my adorable daughter Kira. The pic was taken in May, when she was 1 1/2 .

Publication updates
Here it is! My first publication in Scrapbooks Etc. No, that's not my layout on the cover (I wish!), but my layout is in that mag, page 94. If you are in this issue also, let me know what page, okay? I'd love to take a look! Lisa D., is that your layout on page 88? It's gorgeous girl, I love your style!

And now, I am lucky enough to toot again! Last week, on the very last submission day, I emailed a few cards to Paper Crafts for Card Creations 7. I got an email back this morning requesting a card I had made for the DT on Scrapbook Centrale. I'm blessed, that's for sure!
A couple of layouts.

I am the proud owner of...
Oh yeah! I finally got my Crumpler camera bag! I had been wanting a camera bag for so long, but I was looking for one that said more "purse" than "camera bag". When I laid my eyes on the Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for. With room for my Rebel, + 2 lenses (or one lens and my wallet, which is what I plan to do!), this will let me carry my camera pretty much everywhere without ever feeling like I am carrying something bulky. I've had purses that looked like that in the past!On Sunday, when my brother and BIL were babysitting the kids, Keith and I went to LL Lozeau to check out the prices. Turns out, they were liquidating them, so the price was down. We came home, checked everywhere online and nothing could come even close to that price. So my loving husband was nice enough to go get it for me after work! We hadn't planned on spending money on us this time of year, but I couldn't pass this up. I'll be using some of my publication money for this! ;)

Speaking of publication, Scrapbook Trends has requested a layout for their May issue!! My first time with them, I'm thrilled! Since CK requested a page a few weeks ago, my new goal was to have something pubbed in ST, because it was the last major mag I hadn't managed to get pubbed in yet. Yes, 2008 was sweet to me, for sure!
Please, think of JJ and her family
My dear friend JJ got some horrible news from a family member. It is not my place to discuss this here, but I still wanted to ask all of you to keep her and her family in your thoughts.
I love you chicka!

"I 'ave the fwu!" -Kira, 2 years old
Poor little thing! After spending 8 hours in the emergency room (she fell on her head and was pretty much out of it for 1 hour after that - she's fine now!), Kira has a cold. The outside doors open directly onto the emergency room, so we were pretty much in the cold the whole time. All this happened Saturday night, so Sunday she woke up with a cold. She spent most of the day at my brother's place, like we had planned. But at around 8pm, he called me up and said "you know what, she's feverish and feeling really lousy. Perhaps she'd like to be in her things." We picked her up and she was fine after that. But night-time is always bad when kids have a cold, and she hardly slept. You could tell her sinuses were bothering her, she probably had a headache too. At some point she said "I 'ave the fwu!" Okay, it's not the flu, just a simple cold, but she knows about the flu from Caillou episodes. Even in the middle of the night, she manages to make us smile. She's still feeling lousy this morning/afternoon. Sean hasn't caught her cold yet, I'm still hoping against hope that he wont. But chances are that he will. Sigh...

I don't remember the last time I laughed so much!
Yesterday, we were all on the main floor of the house when Sean (4 years old) says out-of-the-blue: "Do you ladies want to go play downstairs?"
Already I'm laughing right? I mean, who knew he knew the word 'ladies' and would know how to use it properly!
So I ask Kira: "Do you want to go play downstairs with Sean and Mommy?"
"Um, okay" was her answer.
Sean sighed and said: "You ladies are so complicated!!"
OMGosh, I could not stop laughing!!!

Hurray for Nico, Boo to CTV News!

Well, as I hoped from the very begining, from his first audition in Montreal (yeah, a Montrealer!!!) Nico has won the title of Canada's Favourite Dancer on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Rex Harrington once told him: "You are the reason boys dance", and I believe that. Nico is graceful, sexy, and very masculine when he dances. If Sean wanted to dance, I'd love it! I'd rather attend dance recitals than hockey games, where it's cold, lol!!! Anyway, I truly believe the best has won the title, so that makes me very happy! The fact that he is eye-candy is just a bonus! I'm sad the season is finished though, we wont be seeing him anymore! Maybe he'll go and choreograph Star Academie again this year? We never know...
Anyway, why, you wonder, am I booing CTV News? Well, let me explain. Ever since I got my PVR, I haven't watched a show live. That way, I can FF through the commercials. However, for the SYTYCD finale, I had to watch live. I wanted to see everything as it happened. So I had to sit through the commercials. The live show was playing from 9 to 11 pm. At around 9:15, during the first commercial break, they had the highlights from the newscast coming up at 11pm. So what does Sandi Rinaldo say????? "We'll talk about SYTYCD Canada, where Nico is crowned Canada's favourite dancer"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uh, helloooooooo! This hasn't happened yet! Okay, there was no doubt in my mind he was winning. But still, that pissed me off! Did they get a tip-off? Did they just assume? Whatever the reason, they dropped the ball on this. I have tried to find somewhere online where other people talked about this goof, but I haven't seen anything yet. I'm highly dissapointed with CTV.

Weekend parties
Yup, this is the weekend of parties. More specifically the weekend of birthday parties. And even more specifically, the weekend of birthday parties with tons of kids 6 and under!!
Today was Ethan's party. He's turning 2 in a few days. Ethan is Erin's oldest. If I'm not mistaken, there were 11 kids there. I've never been to a party with that many kids! It was fun though, no big fights or anything. That's always a plus! ;) Erin had made an awesome Thomas the Train cake. Believe it or not, I didn't take pics of the cake!!!! I'll link you to her blog if/when she posts pics of her own. The kids had tons of fun, Sean didn't want to leave, poor kid. We'll just have to go visit soon!
Tomorrow is Maxime's birthday party, he's turning 6 on the 13th. Maxime is my cousin Sophie's little guy. I think the kids are going to be thrilled to know they are going to another birthday party. Because NO, I'm not crazy, I didn't tell them yet. If I had, there would be tons of "We are going to Maxime's now?" and "Maxime now?" from my little ones and you know what? I'd rather keep my sanity! At 2 and 4, they don't need to know we are going to eat cake and play with new toys until it's time to put on the boots!

On another note, Bella gave me a ticket to go to Fruits et Passion's liquidation sale. I didn't think I'd get anything, because money is tight right now, but the deals were so good, we got a couple of things we'll be able to give as gifts, I got some awesome Cucina soap for JJ (I'll bring it to you on Friday) and I got myself a few 2$ soaps, a Cucina Dolce candle and a linen spray. I got one full-price a few months back. Every morning when I make my bed, I spray my sheets with it. At night, it smells all fresh and clean. Love it! Now I got a grapefruit one, should be yummy! Thanks Bella!

Some toots and a message from Santa!
Finally!!! After having to say "no" to Creating Keepsakes more than a year ago because a layout they requested had already been promised to another mag, they contacted me again! To be honest, I was scared to have been put on a black list... After all, who says no to CK, LOL?! So I'll have a layout in the May 09 issue, with my 3 sweeties on it!
I also got a request from Jane at Scrapbooking & Beyond. I have said it before: she rocks! What a sweet, sweet person! That layout will be in the Summer issue.
I'm also honoured to say I will have layouts in 3 mags coming out this month. If they aren't already out, it should be soon. Two layouts in Style & Scrap (winter), 1 layout in Memory Makers (Jan/Feb 09) and 1 layout in Scrapbooks Etc. (January 09)
Thanks for all the good wishes I have received, you are all so sweet!

No title
Cute things said recently by Sean, 4 years-old.
-Where's the moon? It's not there. Oh, there's the milky way, and there's the juicy way! :)
-(after the first snowfall) The fall trees (what he'd been calling trees since the leaves fell off) are going to turn into Christmas trees now?
-I'm gonna transform into Gerald McBoingBoing because he's 5 years old. Now I'm Sean because I'm 4!
********************************************************************************
I'm thrilled because Bella will likely join all of us girls at the pajama crop at Scrapbook Centrale on the 12th!!! Scrapbooking has brought me such great friends!

Here's a layout of Kira back in April 08.
