or did i pick it??!?!
lisa's gone on AI. i knew it! i am floored that bucky wasn't even in the bottom three... must be that "vote for the worst" website.
and i knew simon would rewatch the show and think katherine wasn't as good as he first thought (although i am sad that she was in the bottom three. )
if you have no idea what i am talking about, read my previous post ;)

AI: my thoughts on the top 10
OK, i am writing this before we know who leaves tonight. i am by no means good at predicting how these things are gonna go, so that's not what i'll do, although i've said from the first auditions that chris would win it all and i still maintain that!
lisa: paula always says "the good thing is, we *know* you can really sing". but she never actually *does*!!!!!! last night was particularly awful with that great kelly clarkson song. butchered, i tell ya! i'm thinking she's leaving tonight, or next week.
bucky: that guy should've been gone last week! ok, i didn't like chicken little, but if you just closed your eyes and compared the 2 last week, bucky was the worst! he'll leave the week lisa doesn't, so it's either tonight or next week. then again, maybe he'll pull a fast one on us and stay much longer than he should!
mandisa: that girl is gorgeous! wow, what a face, and an incredible smile! and yes, she can sing, although it's not my cuppa tea... she's the kind of singer that I feel screams through most of her songs (i put whitney and mariah in that category, so what do i know, lol) i think she'll go far, but she wont win.
taylor: the best last night in my opinion, although the song was quite boring. speaking of song choice: what in the world were they all thinking?????? they had all these great contemporary songs to pick from, and that's the best they could all do??? anyway, i've loved taylor since the beginning and i am glad he is toning down all his ray charles moves. it was getting old! he'll go far.
kellie: please, get her outta here. she is fake, she can barely sing and although i usually like the southern charm, she is getting on my nerves with it! she is making all southerners look stupid, and i know they are not. yes, she is a sob story. she's already come really far. now let her go!
katherine: the best female singer imo, although her rendition of christina's song last night was awful! simon will listen to it back again on tv, and he'll be sorry he said she was almost as good as ms c herself (and i really dislike christina, so my comment means a lot!)
chris: dh and i knew he's pick a creed song. it was a given. but *that* song??!? he should've chosen better, although he did do very good. the guy will win, mark my words (and i would looove to see him tackle a celine song, just for the hell of it!)
paris: she was good, granted. but she's not my kinda singer. and that song could not really show off her vocals, which are really powerful.
elliott: love him as a singer, although when he waves his hand like a dum-dum, it makes me wonder if he's all there... he did well, he shoulda done great. i was dissapointed.
ace: i have said it before, i can say it again: he is cute, but he shouldn't be in this competition. he can't really sing. well ok, he manages to sorta sound ok, but then again, so can i... do you see me auditioning? no. once people get over his looks, he'll be out. plain as that.

Contests galore!
i am having so much fun entering scrapbooking contests! i only started a few months back, but i love it b/c it pushes me to make better and better layouts! kinda like being on a dt! well i figure, if i'm gonna scrap anyway, might as well try to win something ;) i don't enter everything, only the ones of interest for me, so i don't have *too* much to do! i am glad to say i made it to round 2 of the shack olympics with this layout:
we had to use 4 papers, no more, no less, the number 4 in our title (4, four, for, fore), four pictures of four different people and 4 embellishments. love the end result!
this layout made me move on to round 2 of imagine, create, scrap's spring fling. We had to start from a sketch, and i really like how it turned out. i am not usually the biggest basic grey fan, but in this case, i think they were just perfectly suited!

i made it!
here it is, my first publication!! it's in the jan/feb/march 2006 of PaperArt, formerly known as CorrespondenceArt. they requested this page from me months ago, and it's great to finally see it in print! i knew it would be thrilling to have a page published in a mag, but this is ridiculous: i keep it on my kitchen table, opened to page 38, so that i can keep looking at it all the time, LOL! am i the only one who does that? i don't even care that there is a mistake in the name of my city! so now, i still have the Kodak book from Cantata to look forward to: i have 2 layouts in it. a few pages in the wonderful new mag Style & Scrap (see post below). after that, nothing... so people at ck, ss, st, mm, anyone, give me a call, wontcha?? i'm available, there are tons to chose from!!!

And The Winner Is...
ME! okay, you'll have to excuse me, I am still under the charm of the Oscars! but seriously, i did win my first scrapbooking contest!!! i will be the guest design team member on leaving-memories for the month of april! i am so very excited! i just recently started participating in contests, and i wanted this one badly because i love my layout! i started from a sketch, and i love the results:

the journaling is hidden behind the top-right picture. in case you are interested, here it is:
In the blink of an eye, you turned from baby to toddler. I was warned that time flies when you have a child, but it's still hard to see it happen! On the other hand, I love watching you grow up, I love seeing your new discoveries. Sure, you get bumps and bruises along the way, but that is part of the course. I need to keep my eyes wide open because in the blink of an eye, you will go from toddler, to boy, to teenager, to grown man. Grow strong, grow happy, but don't do it to fast! I love you, Sean
i am thrilled!!! now, if only i could get this page published, i'd be in heaven!!!

10 daily habits
so this morning, as always i checked out the blog thread on 2Peas. we were challenged by Sophia to list 10 of our daily habits, things we couldn't go through the day without doing. so here it goes:
1- i wake up. i find that if i don't do that, i tend to have a hard time getting through the day
2- i change sean's diapers. i could *not* do that, but the smell and the wet couch would put me off if i didn't
3- i have coffee. this is not a joking matter, this is serious. give. me. my. coffee. add one pack of sugar twin and a spoonful of hazelnut or french vanilla liquid coffee mate. if you don't, i will hunt you down.
4- i get dressed, or i don't. no rule there. ah, the joys of being a sahm!
5- i scrapbook. for real or in my head, but i always scrapbook one way or another
6- i watch robots attack monsters, and fish make out with sloths... okay, i think i got things mixed up. for more on this, read my blog a few entries down
7- i watch television. life without tv is no life at all. what would i do without my wb? oh, seems i'll find that out next fall!
8- i wait for sean to nap. yup, i spend my entire day waiting for him to nap so that i can ignore housework and lose my time on the computer
9- i use scissors. i've never gone a day without using scissors. how about that...
10- i have coffee. oh, wait did i mention this one already? worth mentioning again

and so he talks...
by the time he was 11 months old, sean could say "papa" et "maman" very clearly. he said it for a few months, and then we never heard it again. he just stopped saying it. but that's ok, it doesn't matter. we were told by many people, including the doc, that he might talk a little later than other kids because we are a bilingual household. it takes a little more time to process everything. again, that didn't have me worried. as time went on, i could tell he could understand us, both in french and in english. he would react properly to what we said, so i knew he was learning. he also started saying "oh, wow!" whenever he was/is excited about something, and when he shows us something, he says "wazziss?" which i believe is his version of "what's this?". my mom kept telling me "don't worry, they don't all talk at the same age" or "it's harder b/c he is learning 2 languages". she was trying to make it look like she was comforting me about the fact that he wasn't talking yet at 20 months, but i know she was just trying to convince herself, even if only unconsciously... because honestly, i was not worried! still, this morning, i was thrilled when he spoke his first official word!! i was beaming like only a mother can!
keith came home at lunch time to fix a problem on our computer (yup, i made him come home to fix it asap!). sean was in the bath, and when keith left, sean waved bye-bye. when keith was out-of-sight, sean then said "bye-bye". i yelled 'he said "bye-bye", i swear', but whn keith came back, all sean could say was "cadobumba" or whatever other sound came out!! but keith waved bye again and this time, he heard his son, clear as day, say "bye-bye"! we had the biggest smile on our faces, and sean knew we were happy, and he applauded himself! ah, proud parents!
